Introduction
The HP 3048A Phase Noise Measurement System supports several
frequency counters. A frequency counter can be used to zero-beat the
sources and measure the VCO Tuning Constant. Using a Frequency
Counter decreases the time the system takes to find the beatnote,
determine the tuning constant, and zero-beat the sources.
The system supports the following Frequency Counters:
• HP 5343A
• HP 5385A
• HP 5316A
• HP 5384A
• HP 5386A
• HP 5316B
